The update adds more personal context to Siri, introduces conversation-based suggestions in Messages and includes security fixes.
Apple released iOS 27.2 on October 26, expanding Siri AI’s ability to recall earlier conversations and use information from more personal sources.
The update is designed to make follow-up requests more useful. Apple gives the example of asking Siri about restaurants it recommended the previous week, without having to reconstruct the original exchange.
Siri AI remains a beta feature, with availability depending on the device, language and region.

Add INDYASTORY on GoogleSiri gains more context and access controls
Apple’s release notes identify additional sources Siri can use, including photos attached to Messages, Calendar attendees, voicemails, Safari history and Reading List.
An Excluded Apps setting brings together controls over which apps Siri, Search and suggestions can access. Users can also select and copy individual portions of a Siri response.
These controls become more relevant as assistants work across information stored in different apps. Users should review access settings according to what they want the assistant to retrieve.
Conversation recall should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every earlier exchange will be remembered accurately. Important information still warrants checking against its original source.
Five languages join the rollout
Siri AI now supports French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish alongside English.

Add INDYASTORY on GoogleApple says the feature requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled device. On iPhone, the release notes list iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and all iPhone 16 models and later.
The notes say Siri AI is unavailable in the European Union and mainland China. Apple also states that Siri AI is not available to users under 13.
Installing the operating-system update therefore does not necessarily unlock every AI feature on every supported phone.

Add INDYASTORY on GoogleChanges extend beyond the assistant
Messages gains suggestions for taking actions based on conversation content, such as creating a Calendar invitation.
Photos adds Shared Album improvements and support for SynthID watermarking to help identify images generated or modified with generative tools.
The practical distinction is between a suggested action and a completed one. Before creating an event, users should check details such as the date, location and participants.
Likewise, a watermark is one signal about an image’s origin. It should not be treated as a complete verification system for every image encountered online.
Security fixes accompany the features
Apple has published a separate security advisory for iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2. It documents fixes affecting components including WebKit, the kernel and Siri.
The listed issues include potential exposure of sensitive information, memory-related vulnerabilities and privacy-control bypasses.
A long advisory does not establish that every listed weakness was actively exploited. Claims about exploitation require specific supporting evidence.
What users should check
Before relying on the new Siri capabilities, users should confirm their model, supported language and regional availability, then review app-access preferences.
The update’s most meaningful test will be everyday use: whether Siri can recover relevant information accurately while giving users understandable control over its sources.
