An anonymous account reported by Moneycontrol describes a worker’s decision to prioritise job hunting after receiving a voluntary exit offer.
A person identifying themselves online as a Microsoft employee has claimed they intend to accept a voluntary exit package and avoid taking on important assignments before leaving on December 31, according to Moneycontrol.
The anonymous poster also claimed a “200/200” rating and described plans to spend the remaining time preparing for interviews and applying for jobs.
The CapTop has not independently verified the person’s employment, rating, conversation with their manager or departure arrangements. The account describes an intention; it does not establish that the employee has stopped working or received permission to do so.

Microsoft announced its Voluntary Exit Offer on October 26, making it available to eligible employees at internal level 70 and below in participating teams across India, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.
In the company’s published communication, chief people officer Amy Coleman said the programme provides financial support and career planning resources for eligible employees considering a future outside Microsoft.
Participation depends on each business’s priorities, customer commitments and workforce requirements. The offer is therefore not available automatically to everyone below the level threshold.
Reuters previously reported that approximately 60,000 employees were eligible. That figure represents the potential scope of the programme, rather than confirmed departures.
An anonymous account has limits
The reported post raises a question about how employees approach the period between accepting an exit offer and their final working day.

Add INDYASTORY on GoogleHowever, a single anonymous account cannot establish a company-wide decline in morale, loyalty or productivity. It also does not show how managers are handling transitions across Microsoft.
There is a difference between an employee deciding to reduce their workload and an employer agreeing to a revised set of responsibilities. The available account does not independently establish the latter.
Similarly, a claimed high rating does not reveal the employee’s complete performance history, compensation arrangements or reasons for considering departure.

Microsoft’s public announcement does not provide a universal severance formula or a country-by-country benefits schedule.
Employees should therefore rely on their individual offer documents when assessing salary payments, share vesting, insurance and acceptance deadlines. Terms reported for workers in one country should not be assumed to apply elsewhere.
An exit payment also does not, by itself, clarify an employee’s responsibilities before departure. Work expectations, handovers and any agreed release from duties require separate confirmation.
What remains unresolved
The anonymous account’s authenticity and the manager’s response remain unverified by The CapTop.
There is also insufficient evidence to conclude that employees across Microsoft are adopting the same approach, or that this programme will necessarily lead to another round of compulsory cuts.
The established development is Microsoft’s voluntary exit offer. The employee story remains an attributed account that should be read within those limits.
