Vishwanath and Sons box office collection on Day 3
The film saw a moderate decline on its third day, collecting an estimated ₹20.55 crore net in India across 4,876 shows. The reported 7.6% drop from Saturday did little to slow its overall momentum.
After three days, the film’s reported India gross stood at ₹67.22 crore, while its domestic net collection reached ₹58.15 crore.
The overseas market contributed another ₹10 crore, taking the film’s reported worldwide gross to ₹110.22 crore.
On Day 3, the Tamil version contributed ₹11.80 crore, while the Telugu version collected ₹8.75 crore, according to the figures supplied.
Strong occupancy across shows
Vishwanath and Sons recorded an overall reported theatrical occupancy of 57.58% on Sunday.
The afternoon and evening shows registered the strongest occupancy, at 65.77% and 64.69%, respectively. The figures indicate continued audience interest during the first weekend, particularly during the higher-demand portions of the day.
The film’s performance also comes against largely positive reactions from audiences and critics, with its family-oriented treatment and emotional storyline emerging as some of its key talking points.
What audiences and critics are saying about the film
Directed by Venky Atluri, Vishwanath and Sons attempts to combine romance, family drama and themes that include age differences in relationships.
The film touches on subjects including surrogacy, casual dating, sexual desires and changing romantic relationships while placing considerable emphasis on family values.
The response, however, has not been entirely without criticism. While the film has been praised for its feel-good approach and screenplay, some reviews have pointed to predictable developments and portions that lose momentum.
The Cinema Express review described the film as an opportunity to explore the complexities of an age-gap romance but noted that it ultimately leans heavily into the familiar family-drama template.
Suriya leads a large ensemble cast
Alongside Suriya and Mamitha Baiju, Vishwanath and Sons features an extensive ensemble cast.

GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music, while Nimish Ravi is the cinematographer and Naveen Nooli serves as the editor.
With the film already reporting a worldwide gross of ₹110.22 crore after three days, its performance during the coming weekdays will determine whether it can sustain the strong momentum generated during its opening weekend.
