A 26-year-old woman was found dead in a hotel room in Hyderabad’s Langar Houz area during the early hours of Friday, prompting an ongoing police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Renuka, a resident of Alwal. According to police, she was married, had a child, and was employed at a restaurant and pub in the city.
Investigators said Renuka checked into the hotel with a man at around 3 a.m. on Wednesday. Preliminary findings indicate that the man left the hotel at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, while she remained in the room.
Hotel records reviewed by investigators show that dinner was ordered to the room shortly before midnight. Police said the woman later contacted a friend through a video call.
According to officials, hotel staff alerted authorities after discovering the incident. A police team reached the location, conducted an initial inspection, and shifted the body for a post-mortem examination.
Speaking about the case, Langar Houz Sub-Inspector Syed Munwar Ali said police have registered a case and are examining all available evidence to determine the sequence of events.
As part of the investigation, officers are reviewing CCTV footage from the hotel premises, analyzing mobile phone records, and questioning individuals who may have information relevant to the case.
Police officials emphasized that the exact circumstances surrounding the woman’s death can only be established after the completion of the investigation and the receipt of forensic and post-mortem reports.
Authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation while the inquiry remains ongoing. Further details are expected to emerge once forensic findings and witness statements have been fully examined.
The investigation continues.
