Siliguri, 21st January: A shocking case of abduction and sexual assault has surfaced in Siliguri. The accused, identified as Vishal Sahni, a resident of the Kholai Baktari area under Matigara police station, has been arrested.

The incident occurred in the Matigara police station area. The Matigara Women’s Police Station apprehended the accused in connection with the case.

According to police sources, Vishal Sahni was acquainted with a 20-year-old woman. Allegedly, under the pretense of their friendship, he called the woman to meet him in the Matigara area on January 9th. He then reportedly held her captive and sexually assaulted her for two days. On the third day, the victim escaped and informed her family about the ordeal.

A written complaint was subsequently filed by the victim’s family at the Women’s Police Station on January 13th. Acting on the complaint, police arrested the accused from Matigara Kholai Baktari. He was produced in Siliguri court on Tuesday. The Women’s Police Station continues to investigate the case.
