"'Drone City' in Andhra Pradesh: All About Chandrababu Naidu's Ambitious Project"

"Speaking at Davos, Switzerland, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu shared details of his ambitious 'drone city' project. In an interview with IndyaStory Media, the TDP chief said the project would propel the state to the forefront of drone technology and innovation.

Naidu made a clear distinction between the use of drones, satellites, and CCTVs, emphasizing that drones could be more efficiently applied across various sectors, from agriculture to policing. Discussing agriculture, he mentioned that drones would help identify pests with greater precision and assist in pesticide application. 'Drone technology will enable administrators and policymakers to integrate real-time analytics with everyday applications,' Naidu stated.

In October last year, Naidu earmarked 300 acres for a Drone Hub in Kurnool district and announced a program to train 35,000 drone pilots during the inaugural Amaravati Drone Summit.

Highlighting the transformative potential of drones, particularly in agriculture, infrastructure, and healthcare, the Chief Minister noted that drones were used effectively to deliver food and drinking water to stranded residents during the recent Vijayawada floods. 'While other countries use drones for warfare, we will use them for peace and security by monitoring criminal activities and ensuring public safety,' Naidu remarked.

Giving an example of how drone technology will benefit the government, Naidu explained that the state previously deployed many personnel for police patrols. Now, with drone technology, only two or three drones are needed for patrolling. Personnel can intervene and go to the site when necessary, Naidu told IndyaStory Media."
